Franchise Exhibitions 2016/17

At the ripe old age of 45 and after 10 years working in the financial services sector, I’ve decided to make a career change and set up my own business. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t had the capital or opportunity to explore in the past. Because I’m new to franchising, I wanted to come to a show that was bfa approved and be able to speak to independent experts and advisors.

Greg DeSaulles, London

I’ve been researching the franchise sector for a few months, and after seeing an article online about this show, it seemed like the ideal opportunity to meet some excellent brands. The exhibition is a one-stop-shop for me to meet with brands, advisors, banks and the bfa.

George McCain, London

I came to the British and International Franchise Exhibition to find an overseas business proposition. I’m particularly interested in exploring the Middle-East and Dubai given the market growth and have booked a meeting with Macc Tools. In three to five years I’ll be thinking of retiring, so the safety of working with a tried and tested model appeals to me so I can pass on a profitable business to my children.”

Kenton Ponsonby, London

It has been incredible to discover how many brands are franchises. My wife and I have been thinking about setting up a business together for a few years now in order to create a better work-life balance. As I see it, the advantage of franchising is having the support of the parent business, so you don’t feel like you’re going out alone.

Ashley Dyer, Norfolk

My dad and I want to start a family business together so we have come to the exhibition to take the time to meet with the experts face to face. The UK’s fitness industry is booming, so I’m keen to meet with Anytime Fitness and Flip Out.

Henry Banks, London

I’ve come to the exhibition to find out more about the costs of setting up a franchise. I’ve recently come into some inheritance and want to use it to set up a new business. Having the bfa here also means I can meet with independent advisors and attend their accredited ‘essential tips’ seminar.

Ajay Lloyd, Sussex

I’ve worked in education for five years and want to start a business that can fit around my growing family. Franchising allows me to stay in a sector I’m passionate about whilst having the freedom of being my own boss. Creative Station looks to be a really interesting business and the team have been so open and lovely to talk to.

Alice White, London

I heard about today’s exhibition from a friend, I know the franchising industry well and already have a business idea in place. I came here today to speak to finance experts, to gain advice and guidance on how to put together a business plan. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet with impartial experts, particularly high street banks who have specialist knowledge in franchising.

Sheldon Stoute, London

My husband and I have talked about starting a business together for years. We own and run a successful building company, so I’m interested leveraging my experience and starting up a property services franchise. There are some big industry names here such as Platinum Property Partners, so it has definitely been a worthwhile trip!

Daryll Tomlin, Reading

I have worked within the franchise sector for many years, so know how well it can work if you stick to the business model. Now is the time for me to start my own venture, and I’m here to meet experts in the care industry as well as get advice on funding. There is a great energy in the exhibition hall today, which I think reflects the strength of the sector as a whole.
